Book Week 2019

Today it was book week, I did not dress up as anyone but I was going to dress up as the hungry Caterpillar but I was not allowed because I was going to go in my green sleeping bag.
I think that my favourite book is Tom Gates because it's cool.

Show don't tell sentences

These are the sick sentences.                                                                                                          

The ball came towards Richie. He jumped into the air. He held out his hands. He was excited. It was up to him. 

These are my sentences.

The small rugby ball was zooming towards Richie as he Jumped up in the frosty air and held out his cold hands. He was committed to get that ball, it was all up to Richie quickly get the zooming ball and pass it and score a try.

Show: Bob was sad

Tell: Bobs jaw dropped as he tip toed into the kitchen a 1:00 in the morning and his saw that his burger was not there, his lip started to quiver and tears filled up in his eyelids.


Show: Jimmy was excited

Tell: Jimmy's eyes widened as he started to shake the room jumping up and down with his hands held tight and eye filled with joy.


Show: Tim was shocked

Tell: Tim's body tensed as his eyes widened with electricity inside of them.
The bus had missed him.

Sir Edmund Hillary writing

Everest towering over me as I put layers and layers of cloths on before possibly loosing my life.
It feels like every step Is like breaking one bone in my body, even tough I have only just started.
This beast is so tall that I can't even see half way up it because it is covered by the clouds.
I think I am about half way up it now or at least it feels like it, I could not even be close to half way!
I might not be even be going in a straight line for all I know I could be on the other side of the mountain.
This is scary up ahead I can see a monstrous rock right in front of me! this cloud be how it ends but I am determined to keep climbing I have prepared for this all my life so I have to find a way.
Maybe there could be another way round it, it's worth a look. Nothing but a small hole in the rock, maybe if I quickly take a couple layers of go through it and then get Tenzing to pass it back to me and quickly put it back on, and do the same with him.
Ready... 3... 2... 1... GO! I take some layers of but when I am taking the last one of It gets stuck on a rock I try to pull it free but my hands are to cold to even grab it.
So I still go through and get Tenzing to give my other layers not including the last one.

Sick sentences

The man walked up the slope. He used poles. The sun was bright. The sky was blue. He looked forward to the view from the top.


Walking up the gigantic with and rocky hill using my long frosty poles. The sun is shimmering in my face but its still cold. The sky is blue but there is fog everywhere.
I am SUPER excited to reach the summit of the awesome mountain.

Film Festival

Today we wet to the NZ film festival, there were 14 short films and all of them were animation.
There were lots of soft red seats, it was not just Kauri team it was Kauri team and lots of other schools.
My favourite movie was one which had one person doing weights in time with music and then more people came in and did exercises like stars jumps and punching a punching bag (all in time with the music)
and then one more person came in who was really FAT!
and he pushed a button to turn on the treadmill and it went really really fast and then it blew up but the people were one the ground still only just doing there exercises!
